2024 was a big year for Benchmade. In several ways, it saw the culmination of a few years-long projects that also marked new beginnings for us. We successfully launched our Water Collection and kicked off an events tour with our new truck and trailer. We also released more knives than ever before, so we’re heading into the new year with plenty of momentum. In keeping with the pace we set last year, we’re giving you a preview of what’s to come in 2025.
The Bugout® Gets a Refresh
In 2024, we celebrated a huge milestone: 1 million Bugouts sold! Our best-selling model has served as the basis for several spin-offs, including the Mini Bugout®, the Bailout® (more on that later), the Taggedout®, and even the Shootout®. It’s also far and away the most popular knife to customize on our website, but in its eighth year, with so many variants already in existence, we recognize the need to change it up a bit, and so we’re introducing the 535-09 Bugout® with a new two-piece handle serving as a platform for greater variation. Featuring an aluminum frame with an integrated bolster and a Redstone Richlite onlay, this Bugout® maintains everything fans love while offering more flexibility in how we can build and style this insanely popular EDC knife.
Unleashing (Mini) Bedlam
Over the years, fans have graced us with a fervent affinity for certain niche knife models, and few have been as unique and unconventional (at least for us) as the Bedlam®. Inspired by a traditional Persian dagger, the Bedlam® was a rare instance of Benchmade accepting a commission to design and manufacture a knife, and since it was discontinued, we’ve noticed a small but passionate group of fans asking if we’d ever bring it back in some form. This year, the answer is yes. We’ll have more details on the Mini Bedlam® closer to its release in March, so stay tuned!
The Barrage® Breaks Cover
Over the past few years, we’ve sought to revitalize some of our legacy designs with new materials, colorways, and ergonomics to update them to modern standards. Models like the SEVEN | TEN™ (and the soon-to-be Mini Bedlam®) have returned to our lineup years after being discontinued, while others, like the CLA, have received major upgrades in the form of new blade steel and handle materials, along with subtle changes in ergonomics.
The Mini Barrage® got such an update at the end of 2023, and now the entire Barrage® family is following suit. Featuring milled Richlite handle scales, S30V steel, and new colors, these spring-assisted Warren Osborne classics are finally getting the modern, premium treatment they rightly deserve, with a Gold Class version of the Mini Barrage® also arriving very soon!
Going Deep with the Water Collection
We kicked off last summer with the launch of the Water Collection, and the reaction was beyond what we could have imagined. The outpouring of enthusiasm and feedback was, frankly, epic, and we immediately got to work planning our next moves for water, with two of the most requested updates at the top of the list: more colors… and more teeth.
To address the needs of anglers, deckhands, and captains who need some extra bite, we’re adding serrated variants of the Intersect®, the Adira®, and the Mini Adira®, which will make cutting lines and tougher materials much easier, especially underwater or when only one hand is free.
For those seeking different colors, we're diving deep with the new Dark Water colorway, featuring Blue Titanium Cerakote® and Tempest Gray Grivory®. Offering a stark contrast to the standard Depth Blue and orange styling typical of the Water Collection, these new versions of the Adira® and Mini Adira® will offer customers more options when they venture into the wild below.

As always, we have much more in store for this year. New variants of the Bailout® are on deck, including the 537BK-06, which drops on February 4th. We also have more Bugouts incoming, along with new additions to our customizer, and so many others which can be found in our 2025 catalog.
